A Lot of Organizations Don’t Think About People

Summary

  • I've noticed that many organizations have a high demand for workers, which can lead to unethical treatment of employees.
  • Given the abundance of people willing to take a job, some companies may not feel compelled to maintain ethical practices.
  • There is social pressure to treat workers well, but often, organizations are primarily focused on financial outcomes.
  • I believe it's important for companies to have a set of values and to truly commit to them in their practices.

How To Take Action

I would suggest starting with defining a clear set of values for your business. Think about what is really important to you and your team. Is it respect, honesty, teamwork, or something else? Write these values down and make them known to everyone in your company.

Next, take a good look at how you treat your employees. Remember, just because many workers might be willing to take a job, it doesn't mean they should be treated poorly. So, be sure to show your workers you value them. This could be as simple as saying "Thank you" for their hard work, listening to their ideas, or giving them time off when they need it.

It's also a good idea to keep an eye on your business practices and make sure they match your values. This means not just aiming for financial success but also making sure you're being fair and ethical. If you're not sure, ask your team for their thoughts – they might have some great insights!

Finally, even if there's a lot of pressure to focus only on making money, try to resist it. Remember that treating workers well can actually be good for your business too. Happy employees are more likely to do a great job and stay with you longer, which can save you money in the long run.

By following these simple steps, you can build a business that's not only successful but also a great place to work.

a lot of organizations have enough demand for workers that they don't need to treat them in a way that is ethical and I know that sounds ridiculous to say but it's true look at some of the biggest organizations out there they have a line of thousands of people out the door who are going to take that person spot the moment they leave because of that what pressure does that organization feel besides social pressure like there's social pressure of course but like a lot of the organizations they're just looking at dollars in sense and I think it's unfortunate and I hope it changes but I do think that's the reality of why a lot of places don't align on a set of values they would like to exemplify and and don't actually abide by them
