Content Isn’t Enough

Summary

  • I believe consistently creating content is beneficial as it keeps ideas fresh in people's minds, encouraging action.
  • However, it's essential to recognize that content may not be enough for everyone trying to make a change or learn a new skill.
  • Recognize your own capacity for self-improvement when consuming content; if you find yourself not acting on advice, this is a key indicator.
  • For those who struggle to take action solely from content, seeking a coach or mentor could provide the necessary reinforcement.
  • Acknowledge if you lack the skill to act on content alone and proactively seek out someone to hold you accountable and support your growth.

How To Take Action

I would suggest first focusing on consistency in creating and consuming content. This can be as simple as setting aside a specific time each day or week to learn something new, and then share what you've learned with others, maybe through a blog, social media, or just talking with friends. Remember, it's all about keeping the good ideas flowing and encouraging action.

But, it's also important to know when you need a little extra push. If you realize you've been learning a lot but not really doing anything with that knowledge, that's a sign you might need more help. So, how about finding a coach or mentor? This doesn't have to be expensive. You can look for free local workshops, find a friend who's also interested in growing, or even ask someone you admire for advice.

Also, know your limits. If you're trying to improve a skill and it's just not clicking, that's OK! Everyone's different. Maybe try breaking the skill into smaller steps and focus on one at a time. And don't forget to ask for feedback. Sometimes a little guidance can make a big difference.

Lastly, make sure you hold yourself responsible. Set goals for what you want to achieve, and check in with yourself regularly. If you said you're going to practice a new skill for an hour each week, have a note in your calendar to remind you. If a coach or mentor is helping you, report back to them on your progress. They're there to support your growth, but you've got to do your part, too!

amount of content we put out you know I think it's good because it keeps things top of mind for people if you still haven't done something it's good to keep reinforcing the message by having more content that you consume but I also think that somebody has to have the self-awareness to understand like that ain't going to do some people are going to need more than content like some people the content's not reinforcing enough to get them to take action they need a coach or a mentor or somebody to you know be there to reinforce their new behaviors and I think content alone probably isn't going to do that if you're one of those people that you watch watch the content and you don't have that skill like you're watching this and thinking like I haven't done anything she said then realize that you don't have the skill just to do things based on watching content and go find a coach or a mentor to help hold you accountable and reinforce your new behaviors
