when you hire someone it's really hard to know at first if you made the right choice but there are leading indicators of if they're the right person you should feel immediately a sense of relief now that doesn't mean that they've like suddenly taken a ton off your plate but you feel that there is hope you see that they have good pieces of feedback for you you see that they're taking on things more quickly you see that your life is going to get easier by this person joining the team and I'd say that the last thing is that other people on the team all have good things to say about them it's not just that I hire people my team hires people I can like somebody but if my whole team does not bring them into the fold it's going to be very difficult for them to succeed now you might be thinking okay well some people might not have the social skills you don't need the social skills to earn respect if you work very hard you offer to help other people if you show up well to the workplace if you come in early you stay late treat people with kindness if you go above and beyond to help your co-workers people will take to you well
