First Hit Is Free
Summary
- Always aim to give away something that's so good people can't resist coming back for more, much like the "first hit's free" approach used by drug dealers.
- Sharing valuable content can be scary because you're giving away your best stuff. But that's the point; it should be so good that it's barely enough to be truly valuable.
- When you give away your best, it pushes you to learn more and improve your skills. This way, you always have something even better to offer later.
- Beginners often worry about holding back value, but usually, what they have isn't as valuable as they think. So, it's better to keep giving generously.
- By constantly offering what's most valuable, you challenge yourself to grow and find new ways to provide even more value in the future.

How To Take Action
Actionable Implementation Strategies
Give Away High-Value Content
I’d suggest offering something so valuable your audience can't resist. Think of it like giving a free sample that's so good, they have to come back for more. This could be a free e-book, a detailed guide, or an exclusive video series. It should be packed with useful insights that make people eager to learn more from you.
Overcome Fear of Giving
Sharing your best content can be nerve-wracking, especially if you’re worried about giving too much. Embrace this fear because what might feel like your best now is just the starting point. By putting it out there, you're setting the stage to constantly improve and learn more.
Continuous Learning
When you always push to give your best, it creates a need to grow your skills. Take time each week to learn something new related to your field. This could be reading a book, taking an online course, or connecting with a mentor. The aim is to consistently have better value to offer next.
Generosity in Sharing
Don't worry about holding back at the start. Often, newcomers think their initial offerings are more valuable than they are. Focus on being generous with what you know. In doing so, you encourage your own development and end up delivering even greater value over time.
Build Feedback Loops
After sharing your content, listen to feedback. Understand what resonates with people and what doesn’t. Use this information to refine your future offerings, ensuring you're always meeting the needs and expectations of your audience.

you know the famous drug dealer offer is the first Hits free and so we want to give away stuff that's so good that people once they try it they can't get enough of it and they want to come back how what it feels like when you give away stuff that's truly valuable is there's a little bit of fear and I still have to I have to get to that point for myself still today because just the things that I give away now are more valuable than the stuff I could give away 10 years ago but when you're afraid it's because it's the best stuff you have and when it's the best stuff you have it might just barely be good enough for someone to find valuable and so the idea that somebody who's a novice is going to hold back on value when the value they have is probably not even that good to begin with I think constantly giving away value that's the the most valuable thing I can give has forced me to then backfill skill-wise and be like well what else do I need to learn so that I can give something even more valuable after that thing
