here's the thing is that if you want to hire people smarter than you one you don't want everybody on your team to be all incredibly experienced and smarter than than you and everybody else because what happens is that when you bring someone with the experience who's very intelligent you know they have a lot of ways of doing things and that one person can mentor and teach a lot of other managers on the team and individual contributors but if you only hire people that are crazy experienced then what ends up happening is you give no room for growth for others and you also just kind of are topheavy meaning like you've hired too many experienced people and they also tend to all have differing opinions and ways of doing things and then Collide you have to have an offer for people that work for you what's growth opportunity how much proximity do I have to the CEO a way for smaller businesses to attract top talent is to give them more autonomy um because a lot of people leave big corporations because they want autonomy in a smaller business all the top talent that I brought in that was probably like the number one thing that they really valued
