How Do You Show Your Team That you Care?

Summary

  • I show I care about my team by having one-on-one meetings with them regularly.
  • I create detailed Vision decks to give clear guidance on the company's direction and goals.
  • Each quarter, I meet with team members to discuss their careers and personal progress.
  • I frequently check in throughout the day, asking how their week or specific meetings went.
  • Even on bad days, I make an effort to continue showing care and support for my team, just like I would in a personal relationship with Alex.

How To Take Action

I would suggest implementing a few key strategies to show you care about your team or yourself, without spending much time or money.

For Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners:

  • One-on-One Meetings: Schedule regular one-on-one meetings with your team members. It doesn’t have to be every week, but making it a habit shows you value their input. This is low-cost and helps in understanding their individual needs and challenges.

  • Clear Vision and Goals: Create a simple Vision deck for your business. This doesn’t need to be fancy. Outline your goals for the next quarter and share it with your team. Knowing the direction of the company keeps everyone aligned and motivated.

  • Regular Check-Ins: Even if you’re busy, take a moment to check in with your team during the day. A quick message asking how a particular task or meeting went shows you care about their progress and well-being.

For Personal Growth Enthusiasts:

  • Self Check-Ins: Just like you’d check in with a team, regularly take a few minutes to check in with yourself. Reflect on how your week is going, what you've accomplished, and what you need to adjust. This can be done daily or weekly.

  • Personal Vision Deck: Create a vision for your personal growth. Write down your goals for the next few months and revisit them regularly. This keeps you focused on your objectives and makes progress more measurable.

  • Consistent Support: On challenging days, still make an effort to support your growth. Just like a personal relationship, consistency in your efforts to improve is key, even when you don’t feel like it.

By implementing these simple yet effective strategies, you can greatly enhance your leadership and personal growth journey without needing significant resources.
