If You Can Be Kind, Do It

Summary

  • I believe that if you have the ability to help humanity, you should do it. There are more people who do nothing to better humanity than those who do, so why not be one of the few who make a difference?
  • My dad taught me early on that if you can make the world a better place, you should. It's a lesson that's stuck with me and drives me to use my skills for good.
  • Becoming aware of your skills and understanding where you can apply them is crucial. When you see how your abilities can make a bigger and bigger impact, it becomes clear how much you can help others.
  • If I don’t use all of my potential, I feel like I’m also letting others down. Untapped potential is a missed opportunity to serve others.
  • This drive to make a difference is something I’ve always felt deeply. It might be hard to teach, but it's a part of who I am.

How To Take Action

I would suggest starting by identifying what skills you have that can make a positive impact. Take a moment to reflect on what you’re good at and how those talents can be used to help others. It could be anything from creative skills to problem-solving abilities. Once you know what you bring to the table, think about small ways you can apply them to make a difference.

A good way of doing this is to set aside a small portion of your week to volunteer or help around your community. This doesn’t have to be time-consuming; even a couple of hours can impact someone's day. Plus, the more you get involved, the more aware you'll become of where you can use your skills to do good.

Next, don't leave your potential untapped—start small but think big. Set goals for how you can grow your impact over time. Track your progress and celebrate small victories, which will motivate you to do more.

Remember, every skill you enhance opens up new opportunities to help others. Share your journey with friends and family to inspire them to consider their potential too. Encouraging others will amplify the difference you can make together.

Finally, reflect on the satisfaction gained from helping others. This internal drive will keep you motivated to continue making the world a better place.

there are more people on this Earth who do nothing to better Humanity than there are people who do and so if you have the ability to help Humanity why would you not it's like saying my dad instilled in me very early which is like if you could make the world a better place why would you not and the more that you become cognizant of the skills you have and aware of them and the more that you see like if I apply these skills here and then here and then if it gets bigger and bigger like how much of an impact you can have on other people's lives if I sacrificed all of that and I leave untapped potential on the table then I also do other people a disservice as well and I don't know how to teach that to somebody it's just something I've always felt
