If You NEED a Side Hustle, Do This
Summary
-
When I was a student, I prioritized learning over making money. It's important to focus on what you want to learn and what experiences will help you learn the fastest.
-
People today often lack patience, wanting quick success without putting in the necessary time and effort. This impatience can hinder long-term success.
-
I've encountered individuals who join a company and leave after just a few days because they find it boring or feel it’s taking too long to succeed. This is often a reason why some people lose out to those who are patient.
- As a student, it's crucial to prioritize gaining knowledge and experience. This focus on learning has been key to my success.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing a mindset shift that prioritizes learning over immediate financial gain. If you're a student or just starting in business, focus first on what skills and experiences you need to gain, because these will help you in the long run. Take jobs or projects that challenge you and teach you something new, even if they don't pay well initially. The key is to think about the value of the knowledge you are gaining rather than the paycheck.
A good way of doing this is to set specific learning goals. Identify a skill or experience you want to achieve within a month and seek opportunities that align with that goal. This might mean accepting an internship or joining a company where you might start in a less exciting role but can gradually learn and grow.
Practice patience in your career or business journey. Understand that mastery and success take time. Instead of jumping from one thing to another, commit to sticking with your current role or business project for a meaningful period so you can truly learn and develop.
Finally, adopt reflection habits. At the end of each week, take the time to think about what you have learned. This will help reinforce your focus on gaining knowledge and recognize the progress you're making, even if it feels slow.
