“I’m Broke.. Now What?”

Summary

  • I challenge myself to a 30-day buy nothing challenge. During this time, I purchase absolutely nothing to save money and focus on essentials.
  • I should live in a shared space where costs are divided among many people to minimize living expenses as much as possible.
  • I spend my extra time learning new skills and applying for jobs that pay more for each hour I work.
  • If I don't yet have the necessary skills, I start with entry-level positions and work my way up by gaining experience and skills.
  • To advance in my job, I find the top performer and observe what they do. Then, I aim to double their efforts.
  • I must be willing to work more hours than those who are currently better skilled than I am. This helps me close the skill gap faster.
  • Like Kobe Bryant, I practice more than others, adding that extra session to my routine to let my skill advantage grow over time.
  • I don't rely on luck for success. Instead, I focus on becoming undeniable by consistently working hard and improving my skills.

How To Take Action

I would suggest starting with a 30-day "buy nothing" challenge. Spend absolutely nothing beyond essentials. This helps save money and sharpens your focus on what truly matters.

A good way of reducing living expenses is by sharing a place with others. Splitting costs with more people keeps your monthly bills super low, leaving you more funds to invest in growth.

Use your extra time wisely. Learn new skills or find part-time gigs that pay more per hour. If you're short on skills, start with entry-level roles and aim to climb up.

To advance in your job, find the top performer in your team and double their efforts. If that person works 10 hours, think about how you can match and exceed their dedication and effort.

Be willing to work those extra hours. Putting in more time helps you quickly close the skill gap. Remember, like Kobe Bryant, those extra practice sessions add up. They give you a skill edge over time.

Don't rely on luck to succeed. Consistently working hard and refining your skills makes success practically inevitable. Become so good that no one can ignore you. Keep pushing, learning, and doubling down on your efforts.
