It All Comes Down to Expectations
Summary
- I believe there are fantastic education businesses out there.
- However, many education businesses fall short, which makes it hard to trust the industry as a whole.
- If I launched a product like a nose strip or started a dessert company, I feel people would be supportive.
- The key to gaining support for any business is setting clear expectations from the start.
- Consistently acting in line with those initial expectations builds long-term trust.

How To Take Action
I would suggest starting by setting crystal-clear expectations for your customers. Whether you're teaching something new or selling nose strips, tell people exactly what they'll get from you. This means if you promise a cake will be the sweetest, it should really be the sweetest when they taste it. If you say your nose strips will make breathing easier, be sure they do that for real.
Next, you need to keep your word over time. It's like making a pinky promise with a friend – you have to stick to it, always. This is how you build trust. People should know that your word is as good as gold.
So, for a business, here's how you could do it:
Write down what you're promising your customers. This could be better grades from your tutoring service or the freshest cookies from your bakery.
Check your product or service. Is it actually doing what you said it would? Ask some friends or customers for honest feedback.
If anything's not as promised, fix it right away! If the cookies aren't fresh, bake them right before delivery. If the grades aren't going up, find new ways to teach.
Remember, make sure you don't over-promise. It's better to surprise your customers with something extra than to let them down. And always stick to your promises, just like you would with a friend. This will help people trust your business and want to keep coming back.

I do absolutely think that there are amazing education businesses that exist absolutely there are just so many that aren't that it's very difficult to make the association that's why I think that if I had let's say a no strip that I was going to come out with or I had a dessert company that I was going to come out with I don't think anyone would have any issue supporting that or me saying like hey I'm going to build this with you guys I think these are all things that people would be totally fine with but why it's because of the expectations that I said at the beginning and so acting in accordance with that over a long period of time
