How To Take Action

Implementation Strategies

I would suggest implementing a few simple but powerful strategies to maximize your growth and value:

Recognize Contributions

A good way of doing this is to always recognize and appreciate all contributions from your team and yourself, especially during events or milestones. Even small acknowledgments can go a long way in building morale and reinforcing a culture of appreciation.

Stay Resilient

Sometimes, despite your hard work, you may not get the recognition you deserve. Don’t let this discourage you. Remember that your value isn’t dependent on others acknowledging you. Your hard work and growth validate your worth, so keep focusing on your goals.

Leverage Unchangeable Factors

Don’t focus on factors you can’t change, like being a woman. Instead, use them to your advantage. For example, highlight your unique perspective in situations where others may overlook it. This can set you apart and showcases the value you bring to the table.

Skill Building

Realize that you might need to learn more skills than those who are more easily recognized. This makes you even better. Embrace the challenge as an opportunity for growth. Invest your time in low-cost learning resources like online tutorials, free courses, and books.

Turn Challenges Into Opportunities

Use every challenge as an opportunity to grow and outperform those around you, even if it’s harder for you. For instance, if you're overlooked at a work event, take that as fuel to further refine your skills and show everyone through your performance that you’re indispensable.

By focusing on these high-value areas, you can achieve significant personal and professional growth without significant time or financial investment.

we went to a charity event we had both decided that we wanted to donate all this money to this charity and I had done the leg work of what it took to get us like at the event had the team doing all the stuff behind the curtain and then when the time came to present the award to us they only called up Alex okay and they said I was his wife and all these women were sitting next to me they were like these pieces of you need to go up there and take what's yours you ran this and in that exact moment it was the moment I decided I was like I will not be you okay it might be true but it's not useful for you to think about you can't change the fact that you're a woman and you're certainly not going to make them respect you even if it's harder for you so what like that's honestly what I think I'm like then I guess I get to be better than all these guys because I have to learn more skills than them okay
