Just Don’t Lie to Yourself…
Summary
- I once spent about 50 minutes explaining what it would take to grow a company to $100 million. This was specifically tailored to an individual, highlighting their crucial role in the process.
- It's important to follow through on commitments. This person verbally committed to the plan but then didn't show up and let their hobbies consume their time.
- Prioritizing time on meaningful activities is critical. They were missing team meetings and not hiring or firing effectively, spending time on tasks that didn't contribute to building a $100 million company.
- It's okay not to want to build a $100 million company. Many people might just want to replace their income or have a business that gives them freedom to be with family and travel, and that's completely fine.
- The key lesson is to be honest with yourself about your goals and not pretend to pursue something that isn't truly desired.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing the habit of being honest with yourself about your true goals. It’s crucial to understand what you truly want from your business or personal growth journey. Do you want to replace your income? Or do you aspire to build a massive company? Recognizing your real desires will help in aligning your actions with your goals.
A good way of doing this is by reviewing how you spend your time. Track your activities for a week and see if they match your priorities. Are you spending your time on tasks that help build your dream, or are you getting sidetracked by less meaningful activities? Make adjustments based on this reflection to ensure your efforts support your actual goals.
Stay committed to your plans. When you decide to pursue a goal, follow through on commitments related to that goal. Set up a calendar to schedule regular review meetings, whether for personal reflection or with your team, to hold yourself accountable.
Prioritizing time on meaningful activities is important. If you're running a business, focus on strategic activities like hiring the right people or improving team operations. Avoid wasting time on minor tasks that don't propel you towards your desired outcomes.
Lastly, remember, it's completely okay if your goal is not building a $100 million company. It’s your journey, and what matters most is living the life that makes you happy.
