Just Get Better

Summary

  • I was focusing a lot on YouTube, thinking I had it figured out, but realized there is more to learn.
  • It's not about the number of subscribers you have; it's about making engaging content. Even with 1,000 to 2,000 views and fewer subscribers, there's room for growth.
  • You haven't mastered YouTube until your views significantly outpace your subscriber count. Aim for 10,000 views, then 100,000.
  • Quality over quantity is key on YouTube. You don’t need to post tons of videos. Instead, focus on making better videos.
  • Look at successful creators like Jimmy, who posts around one video every two weeks. It's about the quality and impact of each video, not the frequency.

How To Take Action

I would suggest focusing on improving the quality of your content rather than worrying about the number of subscribers. It's not about how many videos you post, but how engaging each video is. Start by studying successful creators like Jimmy, who post only occasionally but prioritize the impact of each video. This means thinking deeply about your content's message and presentation.

A good way to approach this is by setting a personal goal to increase your view count before you worry too much about subscribers. Aim to consistently create videos that earn 10,000 views. Once you achieve that, set your sights on 100,000. This will push you to prioritize quality over quantity.

Another practical step is to review your own videos. Look for patterns in your most popular content and identify what resonates with your audience. You can even ask for feedback from friends or viewers to see where you can improve.

Finally, invest time in learning new skills that can contribute to better content creation, such as editing techniques or storytelling. There's a lot of free resources online that can help with this. Remember, it's about making each video better than the last, not making more videos. Prioritize making each piece of content engaging and valuable, and you'll see growth over time.
