Summary

  • Running a business can be very hard, and sometimes I wish I had more time for other things.
  • I want more free time to think and create better content, but right now, my long-term goals are more important than short-term comfort.
  • If staying in my current role is better for the business, I'll stay because it's important for future growth.
  • There will be times when a leader might want to shift roles or bring someone new, but remembering past sacrifices can help guide decisions.
  • Even if a role feels uncomfortable, staying until the job is done right benefits the business.

How To Take Action

I would suggest implementing a mindset shift where long-term goals take precedence over immediate comfort. When running a business or working on personal growth, it's easy to want more free time. However, focusing on what will benefit your future is key. If staying in your current position benefits the business in the long run, stick with it.

A good way of doing this is by setting clear priorities. Write down your long-term goals and remind yourself why they're important. Keep them somewhere you'll see daily, like on your desk or phone. This will help when you're tempted to switch roles or slack off because you're tired or uncomfortable.

Another strategy is reflecting on past sacrifices that paid off. Think of times you stuck it out through tough situations and how it helped you grow. This can motivate you to stay the course now.

Lastly, allocate some time for rest and creativity without compromising your responsibilities. Even a small amount of time each week can make a big difference. Use this time to brainstorm, relax, or explore new ideas, keeping your mind fresh and content engaging.

By focusing on long-term goals, setting priorities, recalling past sacrifices, and reserving creative time, you can navigate the challenges of business while ensuring you remain effective in your role.

this shit's hard I absolutely would like to have more days where I could just do other things I want to do I would like more time to ideate and think and I feel like my content hasn't been as good lately cuz I don't have as much free time to think about what I put out there but my long-term goals are more important to me than the short-term comfort of getting relief right now and if I know that is better for the business that I remain in this seat I will remain there because guess what what's going to happen in 6 months or 12 months is I'm going to have a leader who's in a seat and they're going to say you know what I want to bring someone to do this and I'm going to have say you know do you remember when for 18 months I was the CEO of workshops and I did it despite feeling very uncomfortable and feeling stretched thin because it was the right thing for the business the right thing for you right now is to remain in the seat you're in for longer cuz we don't have this nailed yet
