My Recipe For Making Good Dates

Summary

  • When planning dates, focus on the things that have worked well in the past. Collectively think about what special touches, like flowers or gifts, made the date memorable.
  • Take notes after each date to remember what went well and what didn’t. This helps identify common factors that lead to successful experiences.
  • Dress up and make an effort to plan the date ahead of time; a good plan shows thoughtfulness and care.
  • Repetition helps improvement. By going on many dates and analyzing them, you can refine your approach and consistently make them better.
  • To have a healthy relationship, keep doing the things that worked well and stop doing the things that didn’t. Practice and repetition are key to creating great experiences and relationships.

How To Take Action

I would suggest implementing a system of reflection and improvement for any personal or business endeavor. Start small and low-cost by consistently reviewing past efforts. For example, after each interaction—whether a business meeting, personal outing, or even a workout—take a few minutes to jot down what went well and what didn't. This helps you identify key elements that contribute to success.

A good way of doing this is by paying attention to what makes memorable experiences. If it’s in a relationship context, think of special touches like giving flowers or planning meaningful activities. In business, this could be personalizing a pitch or meeting preparation. Write down these details immediately after the event to capture your thoughts while fresh.

Dress up your actions, literally or figuratively, to show effort and care. For example, putting extra thought into how you present yourself or your business can make a significant difference. It’s about showing that you value the opportunity or relationship.

Repetition is essential for improvement. Practice consistently, analyze what works, and refine your approach. If something doesn't yield positive results, pivot and try different strategies. Over time, much like refining a successful date, you’ll develop a strong, reliable approach to building experiences or business endeavors that consistently succeed.

Lastly, keep doing what works and stop doing what doesn't. This timeless strategy will lead to powerful, lasting improvements whether in your personal growth, entrepreneurship, or small business efforts.
