Summary
- When creating content, make sure it's about what your customers like. If they don't care about the content, they won't care about you.
- Avoid falling into the trap of vanity metrics. Don't just chase numbers without substance.
- I use paired metrics to balance different aspects of business success, like speed and quality.
- Ensure that you're attracting the right audience. For me, I look at high CPMs (cost per thousand views) to confirm that my viewers are valuable business owners.
- Only go for more subscribers if you know they're the right people for your business.

How To Take Action
Implementation Strategies for Small Businesses and Personal Growth
Understand What Your Customers Like
I would suggest you start by really understanding what your customers enjoy or find valuable. Create content that directly addresses their interests and needs. You can do this by conducting simple surveys, asking for feedback, or analyzing which of your past content got the most engagement. Focus your time on producing content that resonates.
Avoid Vanity Metrics Trap
A good way of doing this is by not chasing superficial numbers like 'likes' or 'follows' unless they are truly indicative of business success. Instead, focus on metrics that align with your business goals. For example, track engagement rates or conversion rates rather than just views.
Use Paired Metrics
To balance different aspects of your success, I would recommend adopting paired metrics. For instance, measure both the speed of your content production and its quality. If you produce content quickly but it's low in quality, you won't achieve the desired impact. Conversely, if the quality is high but production is too slow, you won't build momentum.
Target the Right Audience
Ensure you are attracting the right audience. You can look at indicators like cost per thousand views (CPM) to see if your audience is valuable and engaged. High CPMs often mean you're reaching people who are more likely to invest in your products or services. This is crucial for making sure that your efforts are attracting high-quality leads.
Focus on Quality Subscribers
Once you’re confident you’re reaching the right people, you can then work on increasing your subscribers. But remember, only go for more subscribers if you believe they are the right audience for your business. Quality over quantity will always yield better results in the long run.
By implementing these strategies, you'll be setting yourself up for sustained growth without wasting time and resources on efforts that don't contribute to your ultimate goals.
