Stress Can Be Your Best Friend

Summary

  • I embrace feeling bad and use it as a chance to learn and grow. Instead of feeling guilty about stress, I now see it as a season to embrace and even an advantage.
  • When I feel bad, doing tasks I might avoid otherwise becomes easier since the emotion is already there. This saves time from feeling bad later.
  • I see negative emotions as opportunities for growth both as a leader and in my business. I use them to teach others and learn about myself.
  • Knowing that not feeling amazing every day is okay helps me find lessons that can be shared with my team, who also experience similar feelings.

How To Take Action

I would suggest embracing the negative feelings instead of resisting them. When you feel stressed or down, view it as an opportunity to grow. If you're already feeling bad, jump into tasks you've been avoiding. This way, you save time and turn those feelings into productive work.

A good way of doing this is by journaling your feelings. Write down what you're experiencing and look for patterns or lessons. Share these insights with your team; they might feel the same way and benefit from this openness. This helps to build a culture where it's okay to not always feel amazing but to find value and lessons in those times.

When you’re leading a team or growing a business, it’s important to show that negative emotions can be useful. Instead of hiding your bad days, share them as moments of learning and teaching. This transparency can inspire others to handle their tough days with a growth mindset.

Lastly, remind yourself that not feeling great every day is completely normal. Use those days to explore new strategies or improve existing ones. You will notice how these insights gradually turn into tools for personal and professional development. This mindset shift is low-cost yet highly effective for personal growth and team building.
