The Difference Between Big Business and Small Business Owners
Summary
- The main difference between big business owners and small business owners is consistency.
- Most business owners focus on the outcome instead of the process.
- To succeed, you must be committed to the process, not just the results.
- You need to fall in love with the work itself, like creating content or doing outreach.
- The goal should be about completing the inputs effectively, not just the final output.
- Your success should be measured by how well you did the work, not just the results you achieved.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing these strategies to drive success in your small business or personal growth journey:
Focus on Consistency: Make a daily or weekly schedule for your tasks. Stick to it. This means consistently creating content, reaching out to customers, or doing research. The key is to be steady and consistent in your efforts.
Commit to the Process: Instead of only thinking about what you want to achieve, get committed to the everyday work that will get you there. Love the work itself. Whether it’s writing blogs, making videos, or networking, immerse yourself in the activities required.
Set Process-Oriented Goals: Change your mindset from outcome-focused to process-focused. For example, if you want to grow your audience, don't just aim for 1000 followers. Aim to post engaging content three times a week. Measure success by whether you completed the tasks.
Daily Inputs: Track your daily inputs—like how many emails you sent, how many calls you made, or how many posts you created. Make sure you're putting in the effort every single day.
Quality of Work: Assess the quality of your efforts. Whether or not you hit a big result, evaluate how well you did the task. Did you put in your best effort? Did you stay focused? These are the true metrics of success.
Micro-Habits: Build small habits that contribute to bigger goals. This could be as simple as writing one page a day for a new book, or reaching out to one new client each day. Over time, these habits compound to significant outcomes.
- Feedback Loop: Continuously seek feedback on your work. Whether from mentors, peers, or self-assessment, use this feedback to refine your processes and consistently improve.
These actionable steps will help you shift your focus from just the results to loving the daily grind, ultimately leading to sustainable success.

the thing that separates the really big business owners from small business owners is consistency unsurprisingly the vast majority of business owners that are on here are committed to the outcome and not the process and I can promise you the reason that you will get outcompeted by people who might be doing less than you right now are the ones who are married to the process and it's a very overused thing that gets stated but very difficult to internalize but if you just fall in love with the fact that you're going to make this much content you're going to do this much Outreach like the work is the goal not the output from the work so the inputs become the goal and whether you did the inputs to the best of your ability is whether or not you reach them
