The Goal Is the Work
Summary
- Working hard is the main goal; focus on how well and right you can do your work.
- Learn your limits in working and push them; this builds a self-fulfilling feedback loop.
- Outsized outcomes come from working harder than everyone else.
- The real addiction should be to the work itself, not just the goals.
- Goals happen as a side effect of working hard but don't focus on them.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing a few key strategies that can have a big impact without costing a lot of time or money. Here's what you can do:
Focus on Hard Work
Set Clear Work Standards: Commit to doing your work as well as you possibly can. Create a daily checklist of tasks and make sure you complete them to the best of your ability. Focus on quality and making sure every task is done right.
Push Your Limits: Start tracking your work hours and try to add a little more time each week. If you usually work 4 hours a day, make it 4.5 next week. This helps you gradually increase your endurance and capacity.
Build a Routine: Create a consistent schedule that you follow every day. Having a routine makes it easier to sustain hard work over the long term.
Make Work the Goal
Find Joy in the Work: Shift your mindset from working to reach a goal to finding enjoyment in the process of working hard itself. Reflect on what aspects of the work you enjoy and focus on those.
Break Tasks into Small Steps: Dividing big tasks into smaller, manageable steps makes it easier to stay focused and enjoy the process.
Self-Reflect: Spend a few minutes at the end of each day reflecting on what you did well and what you can improve. This helps create a positive feedback loop, encouraging you to keep pushing harder.
Sustainable Effort
Pace Yourself: Don’t burn out by going all-in from the start. Gradually increase your workload and find a sustainable pace you can maintain over time.
Seek Feedback: Regularly ask for feedback from peers or mentors to ensure your hard work is also effective work. Adjust based on the input you receive.
By following these strategies, you'll not only improve the quality of your work but also build a habit of continuous improvement. Remember, the key is to focus on working hard and doing things right, not just on achieving specific goals. The outcomes will naturally follow.

working is the goal like working as hard as you can and learning how hard you can work and how well you can work and how right you can make things and how well you can do them if you can do that then you have the self-fulfilling Loop which ironically when you do work that way you do have outsized outcomes compared to everybody else but you do it because you work so hard because you're addicted to working and the goals just happen as a consequence but I don't even like saying the goals just happen as a consequence because it still gives the idea to The Listener or The Watcher right now that that's the point and it's not
