The Hack for Patience
Summary
- Patience is about finding things to do while you wait for your long-term goals to materialize.
- While being patient, engage in activities that contribute to, or at least don't detract from, your ultimate objective.
- Even as our index funds grow without our active involvement, we can use that concept of patience in our daily tasks and projects.
- Instead of just delaying gratification, seek out immediate ways to be gratified that align with your larger aspirations.
- By being productive and enjoying smaller successes, patience becomes much more manageable and even enjoyable.

How To Take Action
I would suggest finding small, fun tasks that help you reach your big dreams. Think about what you can do today that makes you happy and gets you closer to where you want to be. You might enjoy reading a book, practicing a skill, or just organizing your workspace. These can all help you stay focused and feel good while you wait.
A good way of doing this is to list out little goals that add up to your big goal. If you want to grow a business, start with easy wins like making a new connection or learning a skill online. You can find free courses or reach out to someone who inspires you on social media.
Instead of just waiting for success, make today's work fun. You can celebrate small victories, like finishing a task or getting a thank you from someone. These bits of joy make being patient easier and a lot more enjoyable.
If you have money saved in funds or other investments that grow over time, remember that your patience with those investments can teach you how to be patient in daily life. Just like you trust those investments to grow, trust that your daily efforts will help you succeed.
The key is to keep your actions tied to your big goal. Avoid doing things that don't help or might slow you down. Stay on track with activities that are useful and make you feel good right now. This way, you'll find patience is not just waiting, it's growing.

how I Define patience is figuring out what to do in the meantime if I tell someone hey be patient I could just say figure out what to do in the meantime like everybody here we're all being patient for our index funds that are appreciating at whatever rate they're appreciating it while we're on this podcast it's not hard to be patient if you figure out to do in the meantime and so there's lots of big goals that take time to accomplish and so me outlining what are the things that I will do to pass the time that hopefully don't take away from my ultimate goal or ideally add to or increase the likelihood that it happens makes a lot easier to be patient in the long term so I'm not really delaying gratification I'm actually finding more ways to gratifying the now that just aren't the big one that comes later
