How To Take Action

I would suggest implementing a mindset shift when dealing with stress. Understand that stress is a normal part of life and a sign that something needs adjustment. This way, you don't feel defeated by stress; instead, you view it as a cue to make changes.

First, identify the behaviors your stress triggers. For example, if you find that stress from work makes you irritable at home, recognize that irritability as a triggered behavior. Then, consider whether this behavior helps you achieve your desired life. In most cases, it won't.

Next, start small by changing the triggered behaviors. If stress makes you reach for junk food, replace that with a quick, healthy snack. If you feel anxious, try a five-minute breathing exercise or a short walk. These small changes can have a big impact on your overall well-being.

A good way of doing this is to keep a journal. Write down what triggers your stress and what your immediate reactions are. Over time, you'll start to see patterns. Use this information to make conscious adjustments to your behavior.

Lastly, focus on manageable actions you can take immediately. Prioritize low-cost, high-value activities that reduce stress, like short breaks during work, drinking water, and setting boundaries to avoid overcommitting. These actions are simple but deliver significant results over time.

By acknowledging stress as a normal and manageable part of life, identifying your triggered behaviors, and making small, impactful changes, you can better manage stress and move towards the life you want.

the only time you're ever not stressed is if you're dead because you have no ability to be stressed and it's just a hormonal reaction to get you to do something to change behavior and if fundamentally you think about hormones as just triggers for behaviors then it gets a lot simpler to say okay this hormone triggered behavior in the past which made it conducive to me staying alive does it necessarily mean that it's helpful for me to live the life that I want to live yes or no I don't know but at least thinking through that and just boiling it down to what am I going to change about what I what I do makes a lot easier to manage these things
