  • Early in your journey, you might only have one or two instances where you trusted yourself and felt confident.

Implementation Strategies for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs

Build Self-Trust Over Time

I would suggest implementing small, daily decisions in your business to build self-trust. Start by setting small, achievable goals, and make decisions on how to accomplish them. Over time, these small instances will accumulate, and you'll have more confidence in your decision-making abilities.

Reflect on Past Successes

A good way of boosting self-trust is by reflecting on your past successes, even the small ones. Write down every instance where you made a good decision and succeeded. Regularly reviewing this list can remind you that you have what it takes to make the right calls.

Start with Low-Risk Decisions

Make a habit of regularly making low-risk decisions without seeking external validation. These could be things like choosing a marketing strategy for a week or deciding on small changes in your workflow. Gradually, as these decisions accumulate, you'll find your confidence growing.

Seek Feedback Strategically

Instead of constantly seeking reassurance, ask for specific feedback on areas where you genuinely need an external perspective. This helps you learn constructively without undermining your ability to trust your own judgment.

Surround Yourself with Supportive Peers

While mentors are valuable, surrounding yourself with peers who are also in the trenches can be equally beneficial. Join networking groups or online communities where you can share experiences and insights. This allows you to give and receive support on a more equal footing.

Document Your Decision-Making Processes

Keep a journal or a simple document where you record the rationale behind each decision you make. Over time, this documentation will serve as a tangible reminder of your ability to make well-thought-out decisions, helping you build trust in yourself.

By implementing these strategies, you'll gradually accumulate experiences that reinforce your self-trust, making it easier to navigate your entrepreneurial journey without constantly seeking external reassurance.
