There’s No Perfect Way To Live Your 20s
Summary
- In your 20s, you can either live them up or work them up, but either way, you must accept the trade-offs since there are no do-overs.
- Most people I've met are more dissatisfied with their Live It Up 20s than their Work It Up 20s.
- In your 20s, you often don't know exactly what you want, but knowing how to work and move ahead is usually clear.
- By working hard in your 20s, you gain perspective on what really matters in life, which is often less than you initially thought.
- If you spend your 20s living up to others' dreams (like your parents’ or friends’), you might reach your 30s feeling like you didn’t truly live up or work up, ending with neither satisfaction nor significant progress.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing the lessons from your 20s into your business or personal life by focusing on clear, actionable steps. Here are some key strategies:
Accept Trade-offs: Understand that there are no perfect paths, just choices. Decide if you want to focus on living it up or working hard. This decision will influence your actions daily.
Invest in Skills: In your 20s, and beyond, working on skills can pay off hugely. Start with free or low-cost online courses. Learn skills that are directly relevant to your business or career growth.
Gain Perspective: Take time to reflect regularly. Use journals or apps to keep track of what truly matters to you. This helps you stay aligned with your own goals, not someone else’s dreams.
Set Clear, Achievable Goals: Break down your long-term goals into smaller, manageable tasks. This makes progress feel more attainable and helps you stay motivated.
Leverage Your Network: Build relationships with like-minded people. Join online communities, attend local meet-ups, and seek mentors who have the experience you're aiming for.
Manage Time Efficiently: Time is a resource; use it wisely. Create a daily schedule prioritizing high-value tasks first. Tools like calendars, timers, and to-do lists can keep you on track.
- Consistency Over Intensity: Small, consistent efforts often yield better results than occasional, intense bursts of work. Aim for daily progress rather than perfection.
By focusing on these low-cost and high-value strategies, you'll better position yourself to achieve meaningful progress in your business or personal life. Remember, it's about making deliberate choices and taking consistent action to move forward.
