A good way of doing this is to first list out my strengths and the areas where I depend on others. Then, I'll pick one skill I want to get better at—like marketing or sales—and learn more about it. I can read books, watch tutorials, or find a mentor who knows a lot about the topic.
Next, I would suggest setting small goals for using this new skill. Maybe I'll take over one marketing task to start with, or make one sales call a day. This way, I won't get overwhelmed, and I can slowly build my confidence.
To balance my role in the business, I would try taking on tasks that Alex usually does. I'll find out what things he doesn't like to do, like running marketing campaigns, and take small steps to learn how to handle them myself. This doesn't mean I have to do everything alone. I can still ask for help or advice, but the goal is to become more capable in these areas.
Lastly, I'll remember to ask for feedback as I try new things. That way, I can get better and make sure I'm helping the business grow. I'm trying to become the Leila that doesn't need Alex because me and Alex always rely on each other in the business what happens when two people get together is they often compensate for each other so I get even better at the thing that I was like kind of better than him at and he gets even better at the thing that he was like kind of better at me at and then the thing that he was kind of bad at that I was good at he gets even worse the thing that I was kind of bad at that he was good at I get even worse it's been interesting cuz over time we've evened out and now in order for us to do bigger things I think he needs to be less involved he's like I just want to write all day I want to make content all day I want to teach he doesn't want to run marketing and sales and acquisition. comom and so I need to step into that
