This is How We Manage VS Big Corporations
Summary
- Managing with punishment is common in large corporations, but it's not effective long-term.
- Punishing people for mistakes doesn't require much skill; anyone can do it, but it often leads to a fear-based environment.
- I prefer using positive reinforcement to guide my team.
- By showing people what they should aim for, they naturally move away from behaviors that don't align with those goals.
- Creating a compelling vision helps redirect focus and encourages productive behavior.

How To Take Action
Implementing Positive Reinforcement Strategies for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs
I would suggest implementing positive reinforcement as a primary strategy in your management style. This doesn't cost much money or time but can have a huge impact on your team's morale and productivity. Start by identifying the behaviors you want to see more often. Instead of focusing on what people shouldn't do, paint a clear and compelling picture of what success looks like. Share this vision regularly so that everyone knows what you’re aiming for.
A good way of doing this is by setting up a simple reward system. Recognize and praise employees who exhibit the desired behaviors. It can be as simple as a shout-out during a team meeting or a small reward such as a gift card. This encourages others to follow suit without creating a fear-based environment.
For personal growth, apply the same principles to yourself. Set clear, achievable goals and reward yourself for meeting them. This could be as simple as allowing yourself some relaxation time after achieving a milestone.
Creating a compelling vision can redirect focus. Write down your goals and the steps needed to achieve them. Visualize the end result often. This helps in keeping your mind focused on positive actions and gradually makes less productive behaviors fade away.
By implementing these low-cost, yet high-value strategies, you can build a more motivated, focused, and positive environment for yourself and your team.

holding someone accountable by punishing them is a very easy way to manage and it's how most large corporations do management because just being real it doesn't take a super intelligent person to manage that way it's like hey if they don't do their job yell at them how many people do you know can do that right you're like my mom yeah I get it and so it doesn't take someone of more intelligence or skill to manage people by fear it takes much less that is why a lot of places do it I have never opted in for that instead I like to say we manage using positive re enforcement right which means that I want to tell people what I want them to go towards not away from and the thing is is if you paint a very compelling picture of what you want people to go towards the behaviors that would take them away from it just kind of start to die off because they're so focused on this thing they kind of forget about all this stuff over here
