What Are Core Values?
Summary
- I believe core values serve as filters for decision-making, ensuring that our daily actions align with the standards we uphold.
- It's important to distill these values and then identify corresponding behaviors at different levels: from broader business decisions to quarterly activities, all the way to daily tasks.
- When it comes to core values, what truly matters is not what we say, but how people experience our values through interactions within the company.
- The way to prove that core values are not just words is to let actions speak; the evidence of those values in practice will make them apparent.

How To Take Action
I would suggest starting with identifying your core values. Think about what's most important to you and how you can show these values every day. Remember, these core values are like a guide for making good choices in your work and life.
Once you know your values, break them down into actions. Ask yourself, "How can I show these values in big choices I make for my business?" and "What can I do each month, week, and day to live by these values?" It's like having a map that shows you where to go at all times.
A good way of doing this is to look at your daily tasks. See how these tasks can show your values. If one of your values is being helpful, make sure you're taking time each day to help someone, even in small ways.
To make sure your values aren't just words, you need to let your actions speak for you. If you're kind, be kind in every talk you have and every meeting you attend. When people work with you or talk to you, they should feel your values just by how you act.
It's not about telling people what your values are, it's showing them by what you do. If you stay true to your values in everything you do, people will notice without you even saying anything. That's how you prove your values are real and meaningful.
