What Does Your Calendar Look Like?
Summary
-
I learned the importance of managing time effectively by observing successful business leaders. They often have shorter, more productive meetings, such as 15-minute meetings, compared to my hour-long ones.
-
Having shorter meetings doesn’t mean having more meetings in a day; it means getting more out of the meetings we have. We should focus on maximizing the efficiency of our time.
-
Despite favoring shorter meetings, I choose to continue having 30-minute one-on-ones with my team. This is because I believe investing time in my people helps the business grow.
- It’s crucial for me to prioritize nurturing my team over completing small tasks. When I focus on growing my people, the entire business benefits.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing shorter, focused meetings. Instead of hour-long ones, try making them 15 minutes. This helps you get more done in less time. Look at your calendar and see where you can cut down on meeting lengths.
A good way of doing this is by setting a clear agenda before each meeting. Know what you need to discuss and stick to it. This keeps meetings on track and ensures everything important gets covered.
For your team, I recommend having regular 30-minute one-on-one sessions. Spending time with your people helps them grow, and when they grow, your business grows. Use this time to listen, support, and guide your team members.
Another important tip is to focus on nurturing your team over less important tasks. Make sure you're investing your time wisely in helping your team develop, rather than just finishing small tasks on a to-do list.
Lastly, manage your time effectively by observing successful business leaders. Look at how they allocate their time and adapt those strategies to fit your needs. This can help you learn new ways to maximize your own productivity and impact.
