What Gets Measured Gets Managed
Summary
I believe that whatever you measure can be improved. Start by measuring any skill or metric you want to get better at.
If you want to lose weight, weigh yourself every day. Just seeing the number can help you become aware of your habits, even without dieting or exercising.
Awareness leads to change. When you're aware of a problem, you'll start to change your actions consciously or subconsciously.
The same goes for managing finances. If you check your bank account daily, you'll think twice before spending.
Facing reality is the first step to making improvements. Call it out, and you'll soon see progress.

How To Take Action
I would suggest implementing the practice of measuring anything you want to improve. For instance, if you’re trying to lose weight, step on the scale daily. Just seeing that number can make you more aware of your eating habits, even if you haven't changed your diet or exercise routine. This awareness starts creating small changes in your daily decisions, whether you're conscious of them or not.
Another good way of doing this is to apply the same strategy to your finances. Check your bank account every day. When you’re aware of your spending, you naturally begin to hesitate before making unnecessary purchases. This simple daily check-in can keep you mindful of your financial goals.
For business or personal growth, track any skill or metric you want to get better at. Pick something that's important for your growth, like customer satisfaction or time management, and find a simple way to record your progress. Regular measurement keeps you directly in touch with reality, making it easier to notice patterns and make adjustments that push you towards improvement.
Finally, remember that facing the truth is the first step in making changes. By looking at the facts, no matter how uncomfortable, you take the first step toward progress. When you know what’s real, you can start to make it better.
