Why Labels Are Dangerous
Summary
- When I was younger in middle and high school, I felt out of place among many of my peers who didn't accept me, leading me to believe that I was introverted.
- I later realized that my discomfort wasn't because I was introverted, but rather because I was surrounded by people who were not kind to me.
- Once I started surrounding myself with better people, I discovered that I actually enjoy being around others.
- There's a lot of power in avoiding labels for yourself, as they can limit your perspective and experiences.
- Not labeling myself has taught me that you can redefine your identity as you find the right environment and people who make you feel accepted.

How To Take Action
- A good way of doing better in business or in personal growth is to surround yourself with the right people. Find those who support and accept you for who you are.
- If you feel out of place, it might not be because of something wrong with you. It could be that you're just around people who aren't nice. Look for friends or networks who are kind.
- Don't label yourself. Labels can make you think you can't do certain things. Believe that you can change and try new things.
- Learn from my story. You can redefine who you are by choosing who you spend time with. This can help you be happier and more successful.
- To implement this, start with small steps. Reach out to one or two people who make you feel good. Spend a little more time with them.
- Remember that changing your environment can change how you see yourself. Look for positive groups in your community or online that share your interests or goals.
- Give yourself permission to grow and change as you meet new people and try new activities. This can help you in business and life without costing a lot of money or time.
