Why People Tap Out

Summary

  • I believe people give up because of their emotions, not the actual situation.
  • People try to leave situations that make them feel bad.
  • But, those emotions will come back in other parts of life.
  • If you keep avoiding these feelings, you might end up making your dreams smaller.
  • My advice is to face those tough emotions instead of running from them.

How To Take Action

I would suggest facing your tough emotions head-on when you feel like giving up. It's easy to want to leave a difficult situation because it feels bad. But remember, these emotions will show up again somewhere else. To grow as a business person or in your personal life, you can't keep running away from these feelings.

A good way of doing this is journaling. Every day, write down when you felt like quitting and what emotions you felt. Was it fear, frustration, maybe feeling tired? This doesn't cost much, just a notebook and some of your time. Then, think about why you felt this way and what you can learn from it. This will help you understand your emotions better and deal with them instead of quitting.

You can also talk to someone you trust about your feelings. Sometimes friends or mentors can give you a different view. They might show you that the situation isn't as bad as you think, which can help you keep going.

And most importantly, make sure your dreams are big enough! Small dreams are easy to achieve and won't make you face tough emotions. You might not want to aim too high because you're scared of those feelings. But it's worth it to chase bigger dreams because that's how you grow. Don't make your dreams smaller just to avoid feeling bad sometimes.

Whenever things get tough, take a step back and remember why you started. Your 'why' can give you the push to face those emotions and keep going, even when it's hard.
